Why Do You Do This?

Below are some of the reasons why I do this, not necessarily in order of importance. Some may be more true than others. This a multiple choice exercise so choose as many as you like:

1- Music is the most powerful and universal language in the world. I am trying to use it as my small contribution to help make the world a little better place.

2- The "Talent on loan from God" argument. If it's on loan then to whom much is given, much is required

3- Couldn't get a distribution deal so I invented my own distribution system just like Al Gore invented the internet.

4- Times are tough and people need encouragement.

5- My wife and kids never listened to much of what I say. Maybe you will.

6- Nobody buys music they just listen for free on MySpace. If you can't beat'em might as well join'em.

7- Wanted to find out if it is really more blessed to give than to receive.

8- I didn't want to become another crass, shameless, disingenous, self promoting band who only post comments on peoples MySpace page just to try and get them to visit their page and listen to their music.

9- I'll never get a record deal because the music I write and record is like..... way off the beaten path.

10- Better to use the available technology to get my stuff out there than have it sit dormantly on my hard drive.

11- Too old and lazy to deal with the hassle of air travel to hand deliver the music to remote parts of the world.

12- I am a wingnut job.

13- All of the above.

14- None of the above. If I told you the real reason....well you know the consequences. I'd have to kill you.
